Then he(Zechariah) lifted John high above his head. “And you, Yohannan, you shall be called a prophet of the Most High, for you shall go before the Lord to prepare his way, to tell the children of their salvation through his grace and tender mercy. You shall turn the hearts of children back unto their fathers, and the hearts of the fathers back unto their sons. A new day is come, and it shall light the way for those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, and it shall lead them in the way of everlasting peace.”
– John the Baptizer, A Novel by Brooks Hansen
And we are all God’s prophets, in our own personal ways. In the ways we can, we, too, shall go before the Lord to prepare his way. We, too, shall add our voices crying out in the wilderness. We shall tell those around us of their salvation through his grace and tender mercy. We shall turn their hearts, and prepare their hearts for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ when He visits them in each of their hearts. And He shall save them.
May it be the day we witness the change of hearts, whether it is ours or others. May the Love and Mercy of God fall down on us like gentle rain. May the Lord lead many onto the way of everlasting peace. May we be free, and truly delight in the Lord until He comes again. And may they know the goodness of God, and learn to fear Him. May they join us, on this beautiful journey of salvation.
