Like a dead soul, I did not want to feel anything–

I have feared, when with my mouth I proclaimed my perfect trust in You,

I filled my heart with fear–

Father, forgive me.

 

I complained for not getting what I desired.

I got frustrated for things that didn’t go my way —

Father, forgive me.

 

I reserved my heart, instead of loving them freely,

I have protected my heart for my self-protection.

I only thought about myself–

Father, forgive me.

 

Father, don’t look away from me.

Don’t hide Your glorious face from me.

Turn your gaze upon my face,

and shine Your light upon my path.

 

Bless me to ever fly fast to You,

I am always running to You.

Forgive my shortcomings, most gracious Father,

You pick me up when I fall.

 

On your Faithfulness, I put my trust.

In your Love, I have hope.

By Your grace, I am Yours.

I am Yours– all I ever am.

In You, I am who I am.
