Heartbeat

No one makes my heart beat as fast as Jesus does.

My heart knows no better lover.

If I can make his heart beat half as fast as He makes mine,

I’d call that a life best loved.

I feel His heart beating when I reach out my hand to the weak.

I feel His heart beating when I smile at a complete stranger.

I feel His heart beating when I am on my knees crying for the unbelieving world.

I feel His heart beating every time I say ‘yes’ to His call.

I think His heart skips a beat at times,

especially when I am completely surrendered to His will.

And in between the beats of our hearts,

in that quick moment of eternity,

He speaks of His Love.

He says,

“I give you another heartbeat.

Your heartbeat belongs to mine.

Your heartbeat and mine are one,

what you feel is what I feel,

how you love is how I love,

how you live is how I live,

in you, I am.”
