Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. -Joshua 1:9
Let nothing disturb you, nothing frighten you; All things are passing; God never changes. -St. Teresa of Jesus
Let us throw ourselves into the ocean of God’s goodness where every failing will be canceled and anxiety turned into love. -St. Paul of the Cross
These passages are the last entries of my daily journal. You can easily draw from these passages that I am going through a higher level of anxiety this week. Aside from my morning and nightly prayers, Bible reading and meditating, these words have been my constant reminder and companion. I hope these words will ease your anxious minds as well if any of you are going through a similar experience.
So many things in life are out of control. As I step forward again and again on my path of Christian journey, I am discovering that the further I go, the more challenges and disciplines appear. It’s all a test of faith. A training course. And even though I still cling, I still cry, and beg for mercy to my heavenly Father to relieve my anxiety and fear, I know that it is because of his mercy and love that I am faced with daily challenges.
I shall overcome with the help of my Lord.
I am ready to throw myself into the ocean of God’s goodness.
Anxiety turned into love- oh, how sweet those words sound, on a day like today.
