Magical Things

The Third Charm.

It’s the title of a Korean soap I am watching currently. I normally don’t watch television shows. But I do once in a blue moon when I feel like my creativity has dried out. I asked my Korean friend for a suggestion and this was what she suggested. The Third Charm.

Biblically, the number 3 symbolizes divine wholeness, completeness and perfection. Think Holy trinity. Think mind, body, and soul. The beginning, the middle, and the end. It’s the perfect way to divide. To proportion.

The third job interview.

The third man in your life.

The third house you toured.

The number 3 holds so much promise. So much meaning.

Is it normal to base your decision on this myth of number three?

Perhaps not.

But as I watch my most recent favorite Korean soap “The Third Charm”, I cannot shake off the thought;

‘how magical it would be if my third job interview came through?’

Because my third man theory worked wonders.

Because my third house is such a magical haven.

Because I am living the third decade of life that turned out to be the sweetest by far.

Just because,

I can still dream,

and believe in magical things.

And because,

life will be all the more magical if your beliefs came true.

That will just give you more reason to hope in magical things.
